These white direct thermal labels print without a ribbon: the printer applies heat directly to a heat-sensitive label surface, so there are no ribbons or ink to replace. Direct thermal print can fade with heat, light or abrasion over time, so for permanent or long-life labels choose a thermal transfer label and ribbon instead.
